KfW development program 270 usually offers the most favourable loans for financing a PV system. This is why KfW Bank is usually the first port of call for financing and for comparing financing offers. Loans from the KfW (state-owned Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau) Bank give private and commercial investors the opportunity to invest in photovoltaics at favorable conditions, even without equity capital.

KfW Promotion Program 270 - Advantages

What are the advantages of the KfW 270 development program when financing via KfW Bank? The advantage is that a KfW loan is not only usually the most favorable on the market in terms of the interest rate, but often also in terms of the fixed interest rate. KfW usually offers a very long fixed interest rate at a low level. This can be combined with other promotional loans and subsidies. The interest rates are currently still unbeatably low and the conditions remain the same for the duration of the fixed interest rate.

The possible redemption-free period at the beginning of the KfW loan is also particularly interesting.

With regard to the registration of the easement, you should know that KfW Bank only has to be entered in the land register as an ancillary debtor.

KfW promotional program 270 - Disadvantages

If there were no disadvantages here with the KfW 270 promotional program, all other types of financing would be superfluous.

Nevertheless, there are very few negative points here:

  • There are no special repayments.
  • Furthermore, a measure can generally only be funded once.
  • In addition, no solar thermal systems or the purchase of worn-out PV systems are subsidized.

KfW promotional programs 270 - Bank

KfW Bank currently offers two different promotional programs for financing photovoltaic systems:

  • The "standard" KfW Renewable Energies Promotion Program
  • The "Premium" KfW Renewable Energies Promotion Program

Unlike the standard program, the premium program does not relate to feeding the electricity generated into the public grid in return for the feed-in tariff, but mainly to own consumption of the electricity generated.

Further electricity storage systems will be funded until the end of 2018 with a program 275 for small to medium-sized photovoltaic systems.

  • The "Storage" KfW Renewable Energies Promotion Program

KfW funding program 270 - What is funded

KfW Bank finances investments throughout Germany and abroad with the "standard" promotional product Renewable Energies.

1. the construction, expansion and acquisition of photovoltaic systems for the use of renewable energies. Plus the costs for planning, project planning and installation. For the expansion, the systems must meet the requirements of the law.

  •  On roofs - PV systems, as well as facades and open spaces
  •  Photovoltaic systems for generating electricity from hydropower
  •  Photovoltaic systems for generating electricity from wind power
  •  Photovoltaic systems for generating electricity and heat in combined heat and power plants.
  •  Photovoltaic systems for the production, processing and feed-in of biogas, biogas pipelines

2. construction, expansion and acquisition of photovoltaic systems exclusively for heat generation based on renewable energies

3. heat, cooling networks, heat and cold storage which are fed in from renewable energies

4. flexibilization of electricity demand and supply, digitalization of the energy transition with a final result for renewable energies in a system-compatible way in the energy system.

The KfW promotional program is not suitable for:

Used systems with exceptions such as The purchase of photovoltaic systems that have not been connected to the grid for more than 12 months. The purchase of photovoltaic systems if an increase in output is planned through modernization and the system has not already been subsidized by KfW, investments in the area of fossil fuels, trust constructions, so-called in-sure business (acquisition of own company shares).

KfW Bank therefore generally excludes certain projects from financing or imposes conditions.
