The district and university town of Meschede is located in the Hochsauerland district of North Rhine-Westphalia. Here, one of our investors received a very good offer and was able to acquire an existing photovoltaic plant that will go into operation in 2021.
A photovoltaic system with a capacity of 99.2 kWp is located on the flat roof of the upholstery and saddlery. With this output, it is possible to supply around 50 households with green and sustainably generated electricity from the PV system throughout the year.
The solar installation is located in an industrial area and is surrounded by other warehouses and buildings used for industrial purposes, while the building is directly adjacent to a river on one side. The roof area is not shaded by the rather low neighboring buildings, and surrounding trees are also not a problem.
Both the building itself and the roof area are in good condition. The lease term of at least 19 years remaining on the system and a further two 5-year extension options is therefore not a problem. Even for the photovoltaic system itself, which has inverters from Sungrow and modules from Q Cells, up to 30 years of operation is no problem at all.
Due to the usually higher EEG remuneration and the elimination of the construction risk, it is a real alternative for many investors to buy used solar systems instead of investing in a new system. After all, once the system is up and running, there is practically no difference between an existing and a new system.
The investor in Meschede can therefore look forward to several decades of passively generated income, while the former owner of the PV system, who has decided to sell his used photovoltaic system, benefits from the short-term liquidity he receives from the sale.
